SARMIENTO
EasyChair
Looking forward to communicate the identity of an architectural icon of one of the main districts of Montevideo, the Sarmiento Bridge, we have designed a product line that reflects the atmosphere of the area using different views and angles of the bridge.
The shape of the seat has details referring and synthesizing the personality of the bridge. The pillars are the starting point of the design. Cushions upholstered with a delicate grey linen fabric, combined with metallic parts that flow around the shape of the backrest, manage to emphasize the sought analogy.
Sarmiento Bridge. It's characteristics columns, beams and rail were used as inspiration for the easychair.
The legs of the easychair refer to the columns of the bridge, while the steel bars relate to the rail of the bridge. The gray color of the upholstering seeks to communicate the asphalt and the color of the city pavement.
The main structure was produced by bending thin sheets of wood.
